Panzer Dragoon Saga look-back ahoy!

So my Saturn adventure continues, crashing through the stack of games accumulated from an era long gone by, and in a bid not to end up crying over how bad I am at Duke Nukem 3D, Sega Rally, and Street Fighter Alpha these days, I decided to start a new play through of one of gamings royalist members – the mighty Panzer Dragoon Saga. Inspired by the awesomeness, this is one beauty worth talking about!

Really must borrow this off one of you punks – even if it has been emulated, i’d wanna play through on the original saturn. reckon when i get a new tv and have one in my bedroom for late night action (guffaw) i’ll tap you up… promise to treat it with holy awe!

There’s actually a near perfect emulator on windows called ssf. You need the bios files form somewhere and then the roms but it isn’t hard, might need a bit of setting up to get a control pad running but otherwise its not bad, even NiGHTS was playable and that needs precision and speed, may have needed to play with some settings on that though.

I was totally going to say I remember that day at Electronics Boutique very clearly, we parked up at your work, for some reason I brought snacks, then straight for the boutique’s last two copies, what a day.

What strikes me the most about the saga is the colour, the limitations on resolution actually help it’s style I find, even the crosshatch, there was one town in particular that I loved at dusk.

This game is classic hoarder territory (internal to the game), so many useless things that you collect that are clearly meant as a way to generate coin, but damn it they all sounded so interesting, what if something used them, I had to keep everything.

So have you completed the run through of Panzer?

Still working on it but quite a way through. Hopefully I can see it out before my enthusiasm dies. Still got a final battle with Sephiroth to go through on FFVII too. Need to finish the things I start!
